Travel health insurance

Since 6 October 2026, every visitor to Kenya must buy the Government of Kenya's travel health insurance before travelling, and show proof of cover on arrival.

• It costs USD 44, is valid for one year and covers repeat trips to Kenya during that year.
• Buy it on the eCitizen portal before you travel, or add it to your Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) application.
• You need it even if you already have your own travel insurance.
